On the South-Western-ish side of the Kingston shops a 3-foot wide section of moss has embedded itself in the bricks. The section runs the entire length of the block, and only manages to survive in the small strip just outside the cover of the eaves.
It seems the conditions on this side of the shops are just perfect, not too exposed, just enough moisture and a slightly less trafficked area.
